SAN PEDRO CITY—One of six prisoners who escaped from the Laguna provincial jail on Sunday surrendered to authorities in Bulacan province on Wednesday, bringing to three the number of detainees back in government custody.

Senior Insp. Gerry Sangalang, spokesperson for the Laguna police, said Verjust Dizon, 36, surrendered to the police in Sta. Maria town in Bulacan.

Sangalang said Dizon wanted to clear his name for fear of being implicated in the shooting of a jail guard in the provincial jail in Sta. Cruz town.
