Farmer killed, 4 hurt in Pangasinan motorcycle collision

DAGUPAN CITY—A farmer was killed while his wife and three others were injured after two motorcycles collided head on in Urbiztondo town, Pangasinan province during the All Saints’ Day (Wednesday, Oct. 1), police said.

Francisco Ramos Jr., 49, died while being treated at a hospital in San Carlos City. Ramos’ wife, Rowena Ramos, 45, who was a back rider on his motorcycle, was hurt.

Also injured were Gilbert Custodio, 34, and his back riders Samuel Aquino, 31, and Ronald Tubongbanwa, 37.

Police said Ramos and wife were on the northbound lane of the road in Barangay (village) Pasibi East when the motorcycle driven by Custodio encroached on their lane and crashed into their motorcycle at 3:20 p.m.

The motorcycle riders were taken to different hospitals in San Carlos and Dagupan cities for treatment. /jpv
