LEGAZPI CITY — Government engineers on Wednesday warned motorist to be careful in negotiating the Lagonoy-Presentation road in Camarines Sur after a series of landslides and floods hit the road network on Tuesday due to continuous heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm “Ramil,” the Department of Public and Highways (DPWH) in Bicol said.

Affected by flooding and series of landslides is the road network that links the towns of Lagonoy and Presentation, Lucy Castañeda, DPWH spokesperson said.

She said flood waters also swelled that it overflowed the Caguiscan Bridge along the road section, temporarily rendering the road impassable around Tuesday.

Castaneda, however, said in a phone interview Wednesday that the road is now passable but warned motorist to be cautious while negotiating the road as soil and rocks debris from mountain slopes could cascade down.

Maintenance crew from the DPWH District 3 engineering office is clearing the area from all obstructions while clearing for the flooded section works will commence as soon as the water subsided, she added. /je
