2 killed, 2 hurt in Pangasinan motorcycle crashes

DAGUPAN CITY—Two motorcycle riders were killed while two others were hurt on Thursday (Oct. 26) in three separate motorcycle crashes in Pangasinan province.

Farmer Ronald Besario, 27, did not reach the hospital alive due to fatal injuries he sustained after his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a parked 16-wheeler truck at 8:45 p.m.

The incident occurred on the eastbound lane of the road in Barangay (village) Don Montano in Umingan town.

Police said Besario suffered severe head injuries.

In Malasiqui town, Jaypee Balberan, 31, was killed after his motorcycle hit the sign board of a bridge that is being constructed in Barangay Cabatling at 9:30 p.m. The impact of the accident threw Balberan off the bridge. He died on the way to the Malasiqui Municipal Hospital.

Police said Balberan was drunk.

In San Carlos City, a 35-year-old woman was hurt when a bicycle hit her motorcycle in Barangay Talang at 12:55 p.m.

Alma Martinez is being treated at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, where bicycle driver, Benigno Saplan, is also confined.

Police said Martinez was traversing the eastbound lane of the road when Saplan, who was in the opposite direction, suddenly turned left and struck the motorcycle. /jpv
