Adlawan wins two titles in Carcar

THE 8TH LEG of the 2011 MS Motosuit Motocross Series turned out to be a Jon-jon Adlawan show as the youthful rider collared two prestigious crowns last Sunday in barangay Liburon, Carcar City.

Not even the presence of six foreign riders could stop Adlawan, a former Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) awardee.

Adlawan first won the expert crown at the expense of Danish riders Nicolay Winfield and Danni Haejris, who settled for first and second runners-up, respectively.

Adlawan, a top candidate for the Rider of the Year award, capped his domination by bagging the pro crown, beating runner-up finishers Dondon Yuzon and Haejris in the race dubbed the 2nd Mayor Nice Apura Motocross Cup.

Nikko Redulla, on the other hand, ruled the local enduro race followed by Dong Batiquen and Amon Amay.

Ray Quirol topped the open enduro, beating James Mayol and Sadam Ganob.

The beginners open production crown went to the Ayen Ledesma while Jessie Pineda dominated the novice open production. Pineda was a double winner as he also topped the intermediate race.

Butch Flores collared the executive C title. Other winners were Rossel Gungob (executive B), Joe Root (executive A), BJ Pepito (peewee), RK Cuesta (mini class 65), Jingle Mayol (mini class 85), and Jougie Basco (underbone).

The race was spearheaded by veteran organizer Lou Ornopia, owner of MS Motosuit stores.  EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
