Government employee gunned down in Batangas

BATANGAS CITY—A clerk at the Senior Citizen’s Office at the Batangas Provincial Capitol was shot dead while ordering street food in this city Thursday morning.

Chief Inspector Rocell Encarnacion, Batangas police information chief, said investigations showed the victim Mheruz Marasigan, 23, was ordering street food when he was shot by an unidentified gunman on Tolentino Road, village Kumintang, at 8:35 a.m.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was brought to Batangas Medical Center but died while undergoing treatment.

Police have yet to identify the suspect as well as establish the motive behind the killing. /jpv
