Gasoline prices up, but kerosene down

Local pump prices of gasoline went up while those of kerosene went down amid expectations that global stocks would be lower this year compared to 2016.

Oil firms adjusted prices as early as midnight on Tuesday, with that of gasoline rising by 20 centavos a liter while kerosene prices dipped by 15 centavos a liter. There was no price changes announced for diesel.

As of this posting time on Monday, companies that announced price changes included Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., Flying V, Seaoil Philippines Inc., PTT Philippines Corp., Caltex Philippines Inc., and Eastern Petroleum Corp.

Those that adjusted kerosene prices were Shell, Flying V, Seaoil, and Caltex.

Gasoline prices with an octane rating of 95 would now range from P40.75 to P50.75 a liter. Kerosene prices would now range from P35.00 to P43.60 a liter while diesel prices would remain at P31.15 to P36 a liter. —Ronnel W. Domingo
