A low pressure area (LPA) will affect most of the country, the state weather bureau said Monday.

The Bicol Region, Calabarzon and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will have cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain with thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The Visayas, Metro Manila, and the regions of Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, and the provinces of Palawan, Aurora, Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain.

The LPA was last observed 410 kilometers east of Legazpi City, Albay.

Weather specialist Sheilla Reyes said a tropical depression west of Luzon continued to move away from the country. It is already outside the Philippine area of responsibility and has no effect on the country.

The rest of Luzon and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Coastal waters in Northern and Central Luzon will be moderate to rough, while in Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas it will be moderate to occasionally rough. Western and Central Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate.  /cbb
