WITH the age of digital technology, a publishing company is gearing towards “digital publishing.”
OMF Literature, a publishing company that aims to promote more on inspirational Christian books like The Purpose Driven Life, Captivating and has now included books written in “taglish” is now in the works to convert their books into digital copies.
Alex Tan, sales and marketing director of OMF Literature, said that while they just recently included more “Taglish” books in their roster of products, they were also keen on tapping the “digital” market through publishing rights for digital copies of the books they had now.
“We expect a lot of changes to happen in the printing industry especially with the rise of the digital technology thus we are now in the works to get a license to also publish copies of our books in digital format.”
Tan said digital publishing had become a trend and would continue to grow especially if Kindle would becomes widely available.
“If Kindle becomes available off the shelfs and not only through online shops then we expect the digital market to increase. And that’s what we are trying to be prepared for,” he said.
Meanwhile, OMF Literature together with Maximum Impact Chief empowering officer Adrian Ding will bring in Eduardo O. Roberto, a well-known financial management author, to hold a financial training in Cebu.
“We want to teach about financial freedom, teach people about the seven tried and tested secrets of wealth creation, improve lives. It’s all about financial literacy especially for those who always seem to have loose ends when it comes to financial management and end up in debt,” said Ding.
Ding said that the training would be based on Roberto’s “Ang Pera na Hindi Bitin” book which they hoped to attract college professors, couples who are married and yet to be married, call center agents, entrepreneurs, and corporate employees.
“I believe that this training can help everyone because all of us deal with financial management for most of our lives,” he said.
The finacial training will be held on Nov. 19 at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel./REporter Aileen Garcia-Yap
