2 killed in Albay drug bust 

LEGAZPI CITY – Two drug suspects were killed in a buy-bust operation in Ligao City in Albay province Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Insp. Arthur Gomez, information officer of the Albay Police Provincial Office, said Joel Quiped, resident of Imperial South Subdivision in Barangay Layon and Agustin Pelitina of Barangay Paulog, both in Ligao City, were the targets of the buy-bust operation in Barangay Pinit at around 4 p.m.

Gomez said the suspects fired at police officers, prompting them to return fire.

The suspects were taken to the Josefina Belmonte Duran Memorial District Hospital where they were both declared dead at around 5:10 p.m. –Ma. April Mier
