Easterlies to bring warm weather in large part of PH

MANILA, Philippines – The weather bureau said on Sunday a large part of the country will experience warm weather due to easterlies as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” weakens.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Benison Estareja said the northeast monsoon will only affect extreme northern Luzon, particularly Batanes.

However, easterlies will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Caraga and Davao regions.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains also caused by easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.

PAGASA has not monitored any low pressure area entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Estareja said.

Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong east to northeast winds and moderate to rough seas.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature ranges between 24.3 and 33.4 °C.
