Tropical depression “Nando” continued to move away from the country on Sunday but parts of eastern Mindanao will experience scattered rain due to a newly-monitored low pressure area (LPA), the state weather bureau said.

The trough of the new LPA, which is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), is affecting Surigao del Sur, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms according to Pagasa.

Luzon’s western section will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the island will experience light to moderate winds and coastal waters.

Both Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds and coastal waters.  /cbb
