Fishermen discover body in waters off Lapu-Lapu
THE body of an Asian-looking man was found floating in knee-deep seawaters in sitio Tacan in barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City, shortly after sunrise yesterday.
SPO1 Manolito Abellanosa, homicide investigator of the Lapu Lapu Police Office, said fishermen tipped off police of their discovery of the dead body at about 7:30 a.m.
The still-unidentified body was only wearing denims when found.
Abellanosa said police investigators are having difficulty in determining the cadaver’s age because of its very pale skin.
He said that they had to subject the cadaver to an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Abellanosa said they could not find traces of abuse on the body, which is now kept at the St. Francis Funeral Homes.
