A truck helper was killed on Wednesday after he was pinned under a delivery van which struck the center island in Greenhills, San Juan City.
A report reaching Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, Eastern Police District director, identified the victim as Joven Tabuso of Pasay City.
PO3 Adonis Borja said in his report that Tabuso was thrown out of the westbound Mazda truck driven by Mark Saspa, 20.
Saspa claimed he lost control of the vehicle “due to the slippery road” at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He then hit the center island on Ortigas Avenue corner Madison Street in Barangay Greenhills but the strong impact caused the truck to turn in the other direction and Tabuso was thrown out.
The vehicle also fell on its side, pinning the victim who died on the spot. —Jodee A. Agoncillo
