JBC won’t release psycho test on Sereno
The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) declined to release the results of the psychiatric test that Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno took when she was named chief justice in 2012.
The JBC, which vets all candidates for the judiciary, invoked the confidentiality rule in withholding the psychiatric test report from lawyer Lorenzo Gadon.
Gadon asked the JBC for the result of the test in connection with the impeachment complaint he had filed against the Chief Justice.
While Gadon said he would appeal the decision next week, he stressed that the absence of the pyschiatric report “will not really affect” the impeachment complaint.
He claimed three incumbent Supreme Court justices had volunteered to testify in the House hearings on Sereno’s impeachment in addition to two or three others who said they would testify if they were invited by legislators.
