Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival
A thanksgiving in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte province, in honor of the city’s patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino. Festivities include the “bonok-bonok,” an ethnic dance performed by the indigenous group Mamanwas, the city’s early settlers. During the dance, men and women, including tribal leaders, are clad in colorful tribal outfits adorned with ornate accessories.

Flom’lok Festival
Derived from the indigenous group B’laan word which means “hunting ground,” Flom’lok is a festival in the town of Polomolok in South Cotabato province. Festivities showcase local products, including pineapple, as the town is home to one of the largest pineapple plantations.
Sept. 13
Panginabuhi Festival
Locals of Ronda in Cebu province pay homage to their patron saint Our Lady of Sorrows. “Panginabuhi” is Cebuano for livelihood, which is featured in different activities, such as a trade fair, forum and street dancing competition. Major industries in Ronda include woodcraft, fishing and agriculture.
