5 killed in robbery in Sultan Kudarat

MANILA, Philippines – Armed robbers shot dead five persons inside a store in Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat Saturday morning, an official said.

Brigadier General Leo Ferrer, commander of the Army’s 601st Brigade, said some 20 bonnet-wearing suspects raided a store at Sitio (sub-village) Bagang-bagang, Barangay (village) Midtungok, around 3:30 a.m. and shot to death Julie, 47; Josephine, 45, Jonathan, and Jerson, all surname Pegurak, and Benjamin Pelitro.  They died on the spot due to multiple gun wounds.

The assailants also took two chainsaws, P40,000 cash and groceries before leaving the crime scene.

Authorities recovered 62 empty shells and three live ammunition for caliber 30 garand and M16 rifles.
