DID YOU KNOW: National Crime Prevention Week

National Crime Prevention Week is observed every first week of September by virtue of Proclamation No. 461 signed on Aug. 31, 1994 by President Fidel Ramos. According to the proclamation, the observance hopes to generate awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of crime prevention and encourage interest and the participation of the general public. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
