The Sandiganbayan has informed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa about an alleged “illicit activity” involving two of its policemen purportedly repacking shabu in the anti-graft court’s parking premises.
In a letter to Dela Rosa on Aug. 24, the Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang said the court is transmitting a copy of the CCTV footage that allegedly showed two cops in a “possible illicit activity” inside their patrol car on Tuesday night.
Tang however did not specifically mention in her letter about the allegations of shabu repacking.

“We are transmitting herewith a copy of the Court’s Closed Circuit Television footage taken from its premises in the evening of Aug. 22, 2017, up to the early hours of Aug. 23, 2017, which suggests possible illicit activity committed by members of the Philippine National Police inside their police patrol car,” Tang said.
“The court will greatly appreciate any update on the result of your investigation relative to the matter,” she added.
Tang also attached the incident reports prepared by the Sandiganbayan sheriff division and the security team leader on the incident.
Sources in the Sandiganbayan said the CCTV camera caught two policemen appearing to repack shabu in their mobile car on Tuesday night from 8:48 p.m. to 3:20 a.m.Wednesday, according to an Inquirer report.
The two cops were allegedly puffing something using what appeared to be tooters, the sources alleged.
The police mobile car had the body number QC-57 detailed at the Quezon City Police Station 6.
The Quezon City police station 6 is located in front of the Batasan complex, just a few meters away from the Sandiganbayan building.
In the Inquirer report, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said that the two policemen detailed in the said police mobile tested negative for drugs.
Eleazar added that the cops were just “eating peanuts” inside the patrol car, not sniffing or repacking shabu. JPV
