4 die in Zamboanga Sibugay landslide

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Four persons died when a landslide hit the village of Peñaranda in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province on Tuesday morning.

Senior Inspector Michael Flores Sangual, officer-in-charge of Kabasalan Municipal Police, said the landslide hit the makeshift hut of farmers who were stranded due to heavy rain.

He identified those killed as Sannylito Tuquib, 21; Jeffrey Lamparas, 18; Danilo Balicoco, 53; and Adrian Ledesma, 30, all residents of Purok 5 Tigbangagan.

Three others — Ernacio Catipay, Joel Longaquit and Joel Ledesma — survived. JE
