FDA to start testing contraceptives

/ 07:27 AM August 20, 2017

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is set to hold the first summary hearing on the new rules of procedure for the certification of all contraceptive products beginning Monday.

The FDA said it had already finalized the amended rules of procedure/guidelines for the certification and recertification of all contraceptive products.

The summary hearings will be held by the FDA to comply with the Supreme Court’s directives on the lifting of the temporary restraining order (TRO) against the distribution and sale of two implant brands.

In August 2016, the high court issued a TRO on the implants.  —Tina G. Santos
