BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — A police officer was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car on Monday afternoon at Aglipay town in Quirino province.

PO2 Michael Sabug was driving back to Cabarroguis town, where he is assigned, when he struck a Toyota Vios sedan (ZFF 554) driven by Cristina Sabluden, a school teacher of the Maddela Comprehensive High School in Maddela town, according to Senior Insp. Erwin Ladia, Aglipay police chief.

Sabug reportedly swerved into the opposite lane as he was driving along a downhill portion of the road in Palacian village, leading to a head-on collision with the car at around 4:20 p.m.

The impact threw the police officer off his motorcycle and into the car’s windshield.
Sabug was not wearing a helmet when he drove back from a local bank in Maddela, investigators said. CBB
