PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — A lawyer handling drug cases in this Palawan provincial capital was shot and wounded by a lone gunman Tuesday morning, police said.
Hermie Aban, a former counsel for the city government’s antidrug task force and a lawyer of former Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes, was shot at least three times by a man on a motorcycle near his house in the village of Bancao-bancao at 8:30 a.m.
Aban was taken to the Cooperative Hospital in this city where he was reported to be in critical condition, said village official Luis Quadrante.
“He was on a motorcycle and was being followed by another rider wearing a helmet. We heard four shots and found him lying on a roadside and wounded,” Quadrante said. CBB
