40-minute fire hits Marikina resettlement area
MANILA, Philippines—A fire of a still unknown origin hit a resettlement area in Marikina City before noon Friday but was put out about 40 minutes later.
Fire Officer 3 Fernando Bernardo, radio operator of the Marikina Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire started at 11:20 a.m. in Barangay Nangka Resettlement Area. It reached the fifth alarm before firefighters put it out at exactly 12:02 p.m.
Details as to how many houses were affected and estimates of the damage were not immediately available.
