Man killed, 16-yr-old girl hurt in Ecija town gun attack

SAN ISIDRO, Nueva Ccija – A 70-year-old farmer was killed in a gun attack on Wednesday that also injured a 16-year-old girl in San Isidro village here.

Antonio Francisco died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds. He was driving a motorcycle to his farm in Tabon village at 6 a.m. when he was attacked by men who were tailing him in a sedan. The gunmen fired a hand gun and an M 16 rifle.

A stray bullet struck the girl, a high school student who was a passenger of another motorcycle on the road. She is undergoing medical treatment at the Good Samaritan Hospital in nearby Gapan City.

Police said have yet to establish the identities of the suspects and the motive. Armand Galang, Inquirer Central Luzon
