Journalist killed in Sultan Kudarat

ILIGAN CITY — Unidentified men shot and killed a journalist in the town of President Quirino in Sultan Kudarat on Monday morning.

Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, provincial police commander, identified the victim as Leodoro Diaz, a columnist of Sapol Newspaper and reporter of Radio Mindanao Network.

Diaz had just come out from his house in the village of Katiko driving his motorcycle when he was attacked by two men around 9 a.m., Supiter said.

Supiter said Diaz, in his 60s, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body resulting to his death.

“We are investigating the motive as well the personalities behind the attack,” Supiter said.

John Paul Jubelag, publisher of Sapol News, told the Inquirer that Diaz have been working with them in the last 10 years. JE
