Iloilo cops hunt down brothers accused of killing ma’s boyfriend
ILOILO CITY — The police on Saturday were hunting down two brothers who were accused of killing the boyfriend of their 70-year old mother in Barangay Pagdugi, Dumangas town in Iloilo.
Rey Leylam and his brother, Silverio, allegedly took turns in stabbing Marvin Ceballo, 54 and a construction worker, while he was on his way to the house of Elsa Leylam, the suspects’ mother.
“When Ceballo was on the way to the house of Elsa (Leylam) he was approached by Rey and Silverio and stabbed him several times and hit him with a hammer,” said Chief Insp. Rene Obrego, Dumangas police chief.
He said the brothers were allegedly against the relationship of Ceballo and their mother due to the age difference.
“They (suspects) were angry because their mother continued communicating with Ceballo,” Obregon added.
Ceballo suffered eight stab wounds and several injuries caused by the hammer. JE
