MANILA, Philippines—Today, May 26, is the 112th birth anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Juan Felipe Nakpil, the only son of musician Julio Nakpil and Gregoria de Jesus, the widow of Andres Bonifacio. He designed more than 200 buildings, including the Quiapo Church and the Manila Jockey Club. Nakpil was named national artist in 1973.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
