Youth leaders to join Archdiocesan confab

AROUND 250 youth leaders from parishes and covenanted communities of the Archdiocese of Cebu are now ready for the 5th Archdiocesan Youth Congress.

The activity spearheaded by the Commission on Youth will take place from Nov. 25 to Nov. 27 at Boy Scouts Camp, Capitol Hills, Cebu City, in celebration of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines’ Year of the Youth.

The youth meeting is expected to respond to the need for an ongoing formation of youth leaders and to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed in handling youth ministry.

The theme of the celebration is “Cebu’s youth: Standing firm in the faith, doing all our work in love for life.”

Competent speakers were invited to elaborate on the most pressing issue on human life.

They are Msgr. Dennis Villarojo on the congress theme, Fr. Loreto Jaque on human sexuality, Fr. Alfonso Suico and Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer on the church’s stand on Reproductive Health bill.

A Holy Mass will be presided over by Bishop Julito Cortes, auxiliary bishop of Cebu.

The registration of participants is ongoing until Nov. 15 at the Commission on Youth office on the second floor of Patria de Cebu building, fronting Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.

A registration of P1,000 will be collected to cover the cost of accommodation, food and congress kit.
