A total of 183 families or 664 persons have evacuated their homes and are now housed in different temporary shelters, the report said.

Most of the affected families are from eight barangays in Malabon City and Valenzuela City.

Monsoon rains triggered by Tropical Storm “Gorio” prompted the suspension of classes in 54 municipalities and 25 cities in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and NCR since Thursday, the NDRRMC said.

Floods were also reported in some parts of Luzon including Metro Manila because of heavy rains.

The state weather bureau said good weather is expected by Sunday, when the storm leaves the Philippine area of responsibility. JPV/rga
