Fire leaves 300 families homeless in Malabon

One was reported hurt while 150 houses were destroyed in a fire that razed a residential area in Dulong Herrera Street, Barangay Ibaba, Malabon City, on Wednesday.

Radyo Inquirer reported that an unattended stove caused the fire, which affected about 300 families.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire started at about 6 a.m. and quickly reached the fifth alarm. It was declared under control at 8 a.m. and fire out 40 minutes later.

Fire quickly spread since most of the houses were made of light materials, radio reports said. CBB
