Did You Know: MacArthur’s HQ was in Intramuros

The central office of the United States Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) commanded by Lt. Gen. Douglas MacArthur was located at 1 Calle Victoria in Intramuros, the Walled City of Manila.

The headquarters of the USAFFE, which was formed to improve the Philippines’ defenses, was established on July 26, 1941.  —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
