Village peacekeeper found murdered in Cabanatuan
CABANATUAN CITY – A 65-year-old member of the village peacekeeping group in Barangay Caalibangbangan in this city, was found dead, wrapped in a blanket and with wire coiled around his neck on Sunday (July 23).
The face of Marcelo Pangilinan of the barangay peacekeeping action team (BPAT) was covered with a sack, while his hands were bound with packaging tape. His killer or killers wrote down a note along the tape which described Pangilinan as a drug pusher. The note also implicated other village officials.
“Pusher ako. Protektor ko si Kapitan at lahat ng kuto nito (I am a pusher. I am protected by Kapitan and all his underlings),” the note reads.
Investigators recovered three sachets of alleged shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from the victim’s body, police said.
The village chair and the police have yet to comment on the killer’s note. SFM
