Malacañang has described President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday as “frank, challenging, realistic but hopeful.”
It better be.
Man on the street interviews conducted recently by INQUIRER.net showed that the ordinary folk will be the President’s attentive audience when he gives his report to the nation on Monday.
“Manonood,” said tricycle driver Vicente Almonte. “Gusto kong marinig kung may sasabihin siya kung may magbabago ba o anuman (Yes I’ll watch his Sona. I want to hear if he would say there would be change or whatever).”
Other people also said they will watch Sona.
“Titingnan ko kung ano ang mga sasabihin ng Pangulo (I want to know what will the President say),” Raymond Castro, a barber, said.
But a pedicab disagreed: “Wala ring mangyayari, manood ka ganun din. Bale-wala rin ang nangyayari sa Pilipinas, e (Nothing will change; you watch it but your life will still be unchanged. It’s useless).”
