MMDA issues traffic rerouting scheme for Duterte’s second Sona
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday informed the public about the roads in Quezon City which may be affected by activities leading to President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday, advising them to take alternate routes instead.
MMDA said that for motorists coming from Commonwealth Avenue, they may turn right on Fairlane, right on Dahlia, then left on Chestnut then straight to Sauyo Road to Mindanao Avenue, and vice versa.
Those coming from SM Fairview and Robinsons Fairview, meanwhile, may take Quirino Highway then straight to Mindanao Avenue, and vice versa.
Motorists from Fairview or Mindanao Avenue may turn right at Jordan Plains straight to Quirino Highway then Mindanao Avenue, and vice versa.
The Sona has been plagued by heavy traffic yearly, with protesters occupying portions of different roads around the Batasang Pambansa Complex. IDL/rga
