Motorcycle rider dies in Pangasinan road mishap

DAGUPAN CITY—A motorcycle rider was killed on Friday when his motorcycle collided with a truck in Malasiqui town in Pangasinan province.

Froilan Fontanilla, 24, died on the way to the Malasiqui Municipal Hospital. The accident took place as both vehicles were traversing the Villasis-Malasiqui Road in Barangay (village) Lareg-lareg at 7:10 a.m.

A witness told investigators that Fontanilla’s motorcycle hit the truck, which was on the east bound lane of the road, after he overtook another motorcycle on the road’s west bound lane.

Because of the impact, Fontanilla was thrown off his bike and was run over by another truck driven by Nomer Gambit, 37.

Traffic investigators are still investigating to identify the names of the other people involved in the mishap. JPV/rga
