MAN KILLED IN LAPU
A 34-YEAR-OLD man was found dead outside a house believed to be a drug den in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
Roy Aying was found around 5 a.m. yesterday with a bullet wound in the head.
He was found about 15 meters from the house of Jay Malingin.
Malingin and his family were no longer in their house when the body was found.
Police said it was possible that Aying was shot inside the house. One of the house’s wooden window jalousie blades had a bullet hole.
Muddy footprints and bloodstains were found all over the house, indicating that a commotion happened inside.
Police said it was possible that Aying was dragged outside the house after he was shot.
Neighbors told police that gunfire broke out around 2 a.m. No one bothered to check the bursts of gunfire for security reasons.
Police said recovered in Aying’s pocket was a small bottle containing small sachets of suspected shabu.
Police also found in a room at the back the house assorted drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation will be made to find out if Malingin could be considered as a suspect in the killing, said SPO1 Manolito Abellanosa, homicide investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Police.
In barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, Joel Dungog was shot in the leg while he and his cousin were walking along a road early morning.
Police said the assailants rode on a motorcycle.
Dungog was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

INFANT RESCUED
AN infant was rescued from a man who was believed to be mentally challenged.
The man identified as Cipriano Artajo Jr., a native of Negros Oriental, was seen carrying the male infant while dancing along a street in barangay Mabolo around 9 a.m. yesterday.
The infant believed to be between seven and nine months old wore a diaper and a baby T-shirt.
The infant was untidy and appeared weak, said Maria Delia Militante, worker of Gender and Development n barangay Kasambagan.
Barangay tanods after he was seen loitering in the street carrying the infant.
The man could not answer properly and showed unusual behavior, said Militante.
Militante had cigarette burns in the different parts of the body.
The infant also had a wound in the nose.
The infant was turned over to social workers while Artajo was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for a medical check-up./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
