Pantino to vie in 3 tennis tournaments this month

CEBU’S top netter Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino will again have a busy month with various tournaments line up for the talented player.

First up for the 10-year-old netter of the University of San Carlos (USC) is the ongoing Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) Open 2011 in Paco, Manila .

Pantino received a bye in the first round and will face the winner of the Stephen Tubbs-Miguel del Rosario match.

This will be Pantino’s second time in this Group 1 Philippine Tennis Association (Philta)-sanctioned tournament. Last year Pantino won 10-under crown.
Category champions will receive 200 ranking points.

After a few days rest, Pantino will proceed to Pangasinan as part of the Visayas delegation for the 2011 National Milo Little Olympics then on to Bohol as part of the Cebu City delegation to the 2011 Central Visayas Regional Athletics Association (CVIRAA) meet which will kick off on Nov. 27.

Pantino’s mother Lourdes said her son might cap the year with three more tournaments in December but this has yet to be confirmed.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
