Work angle eyed in two women’s killing in Parañaque

/ 05:02 AM July 12, 2017

Investigators said that the killing of a woman and her daughter in Parañaque City may be related to the former’s work as a money lender and real estate agent.

Senior Insp. Jerry Sunga, chief of investigation of the Parañaque police, said that this was based on text messages found in the cell phone of Unicy Garin.

The 55-year-old Garin was with her daughter, Unicy II, inside their vehicle when they were shot at the corner of United Nations and Sierra Leone Streets on July 9 by two men on a motorcycle.

Based on the messages found on the victim’s phone, Garin had been exchanging heated text messages with several people whom Sunga did not identify.

“Garin was supposedly asking one of the men to come up with the money to pay her. He insisted he was going to pay her until his last breath, if necessary,” the policeman said. —Dexter Cabalza
