It would seem nobody’s graduating from “Recto University,” at least not this week, following a raid conducted Wednesday by the Manila Police District (MPD) on several of the stalls offering fake documents in the area.
Thirteen people who were acting as operators, fixers or runners were arrested in the operation conducted by the MPD Police Station 3 on Recto Avenue, Sta. Cruz, at around 9 a.m., station commander Superintendent James Afalla told reporters.
Confiscated were fake birth certificates, diplomas, marriage contracts and identification cards.
The arrests, however, were not expected to lead to the closure of stalls in the area as the police admitted that it would be difficult for them to hold the 13 people without complainants to file cases against them.
