Woman killed in Makati street robbery

A call center agent was shot dead in a robbery on a Makati City street before dawn Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Leonille Zara, 36, married, who was renting on Curie Street, Barangay Palanan.

Zara was walking home around 4 a.m. when she was approached by the assailant near the corner of Curie and Enrique Streets.

Based on the security camera footage of the apartment, the robber and the victim grappled for the latter’s bag.

Case investigator PO2 John Marlou Garcia said the victim was shot once in the neck and was killed on the spot.

The assailant then took the bag and fled on a motorcycle.

A resident heard the commotion and reported it to the authorities.
