Canadians celebrated Canada’s 150th anniversary, also known as the 150th anniversary of Confederation or Canada 150, by creating what is considered the biggest “living” maple leaf in the country.
This time-lapse video was shot through a helicopter hovering the venue. The leaf itself consisted of around 3,600 individuals who gathered at the corner of Portage Avenue and Main Street, in Winnipeg on July 1, as per CTV News.
According to the report, Winnipeg also created the largest living flag last year during the 2016 Canada Day celebration.
Other Canadians laid out a giant flag that measures 9,900 square meters within the Brockton Oval in Stanley Park. It was meant to reflect the total area of Canada at a one-to-1,000,000 scale. Alfred Bayle/JB
