Two alleged drug pushers who sold “shabu” and cocaine mostly to call center agents and residents of upscale villages in Muntinlupa City were arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation early Friday morning.

They had also lowered the price to make cocaine affordable to the poor, according to a police official.

Twenty-one packs of cocaine and five sachets of shabu with a total estimated street value of P1 million were seized from Andrew Nolasco and Gecena Nuñez, alias Madam Bebe, in a drug sting conducted on Civic Drive, Filinvest City business district, in Alabang around 3 a.m.

Senior Insp. John Elvin Tio, the head of the antidrugs unit of the Muntinlupa police, said the operation actually targeted another suspect known only as Al, “the top drug supplier” in Muntinlupa.

But it was the 33-year-old Nolasco who showed up for the transaction and brought P3,000 worth of cocaine to the poseur buyer.

The 31-year-old Nuñez—reportedly Al’s girlfriend—also arrived to check on the purchase.

When arrested, Nuñez broke down as she admitted being a drug pusher in the past.

She claimed that she was only accompanying Nolasco that morning and was no longer involved in the drug trade.

But according to Tio, Nuñez had been detained before on a drug-related charge and remained on the police drug watch list as “a high-value target.”

While she and Nolasco sold cocaine mostly to rich buyers, “they also made it affordable to the poor by selling it in small sachets for as low as P3,000 each,” the official added.

Senior Supt. Dante Novicio, the Muntinlupa police chief, said Nuñez and her group had found buyers among call center agents in the Filinvest business district and the residents of gated subdivisions like Ayala Alabang.

The suspects also operated in the nearby cities of Las Piñas and Parañaque, and in Bacoor, Cavite province, Novicio said.

The arrest of Nuñez and Nolasco should cut the current drug supply in Muntinlupa by “25 percent,” the police chief added.
