TV5 takes disciplinary action against Tulfo brothers, Ed Lingao

The management of TV5 has announced that its News5 talents Erwin Tulfo, veteran journalist Ed Lingao and Ben Tulfo will be given disciplinary action.

The Tulfo brothers and Lingao recently engaged in a verbal tussle in their social media posts triggered by fake news.

Lingao, in a Facebook post, called out Tulfo for reacting to fake news about Senator Risa Hontiveros allegedly supporting the Maute group. He also slammed Tulfo for cussing several times on air, a clear violation Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP)’s code of ethics.

Since then, they engaged in a war of words over media ethics and professionalism, using various news platforms.

In a statement released on Friday, TV5 said its management “is extremely disappointed at the unfortunate episode.”
