Damaged power cable limits number of trains plying LRT line 2

The Light Rail Transit (LRT-2) limited its operations on Friday afternoon after a power cable was damaged by lightning, its spokesman said.

Hernando Cabrera said provisional service was implemented due to the damaged catenary wire, which transmits electrical energy to the coaches, was hit by lightning.

The LRT-2 advisory

Cabrera said the technical problem affected train operations from Recto Station to Anonas Station and vice versa, which started 5:01 p.m.

As of this posting, the LRT management said the operations will remain in provisional service. JPV
