DAVAO CITY—Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) chief Isidro Lapeña on Friday claimed the Duterte administration’s war on drugs was succeeding.
Speaking at the Mindanao Hour held here Friday, Lapeña said the Duterte administration “has done so much” in a year’s time compared to the previous administration.
He said since Duterte came to power, 2.246 tons of illegal drugs valued at P12.62 billion had been seized in various operations.
It was 198 percent more, he said, when compared to the volume of illegal drugs seized during the final year of the Aquino administration.
He said to date, 1,308,078 drug suspects had surrendered and that the operation now has shifted to clearing villages of the drug menace./rga
