Alleged drug pusher killed in Batangas encounter

BATANGAS CITY – An alleged drug pusher was killed in a gunfight with arresting policemen in San Jose town in Batangas province Thursday afternoon.

Chief inspector Ronnie Golfo, San Jose police chief, said Rodolfo Lacsamana, an alleged drug pusher, was killed after he fought against responding police officers on Makalintal Avenue in Barangay (village) Tanauan at around 1:45 p.m.

Investigation showed that police received information that Lacsamana, their subject for three warrants of arrest, was seen on board a Mitsubishi Lancer. Police officers were immediately dispatched and approached the suspect to serve the warrants.

However, Lacsamana, refused to submit himself and instead fired upon the policemen, prompting them to fire back.

Lacsamana died while being taken to a hospital.

Lacsamana was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. He was also included in San Jose police drug watch list. JE
