Monday afternoon until the evening in Metro Manila and some parts of the country will be rainy, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest forecast, the state weather bureau said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country mostly in the afternoon or evening.

A ridge of high pressure area (HPA) is still affecting the eastern section of Luzon, it said.

Pagasa said thunderstorms are expected to pour over Cebu  (Daanbantayan, Medellin, Bogo City, San Remegio) while light to moderate rainshowers will affect Misamis Oriental (Talisayan), Camiguin, Zamboanga del Sur (Dimataling), and Zamboanga Sibugay (Payao).

Isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are also seen to prevail over northern Luzon, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, in the whole of Visayas and Mindanao. IDL/rga
