Pangasinan village chief nabbed for drugs

DAGUPAN CITY — Police on Wednesday arrested a village official in Bani town in Pangasinan province for illegal drug possession.

Philip Ramones, 43, council member of Ambabaay village, did not resist when policemen handcuffed him after a 7 a.m. raid at his house yielded 36 sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), according to Chief Insp. Amor Mio Somine, Bani police chief.

Somine said Ramones was among the town’s high value targets who surrendered at the start of the war on drugs last year. JE
