200 families lose homes in Manila fire

A fifth-alarm fire hit an informal settlers’ area in Manila on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 200 families lost their homes in the blaze that broke out at the corner of Osmeña Highway and Quirino Avenue in Barangay 734, Zone 80.
So far, no casualty was reported.
Barangay chairperson Rosario Gonzales told a radio station that the fire started from the house of a certain Joey Trinidad at around 1 p.m.

The blaze prompted traffic enforcers to close the eastbound lane of Quirino Avenue heading to Osmeña Highway as fire trucks from various stations from Metro Manila rushed to the area. John Lester Alos
